San Luis, Arizona — Mayor Gerardo Sanchez proclaimed April 10th through 16th, 2016 as National Public Safety Telecommunications week to honor the men and women whose attentiveness and professionalism help keep our city and its residents safe. The proclamation was signed at Wednesday’s special city council meeting.
“I thank all the Public Safety Telecommunicators for your hard work, dedication and passion” said Mayor Sanchez. Telecommunicators’ need to demonstrate compassion, empathy and understanding while maintaining a high degree of professionalism, he added.
Public Safety Telecommunicators (dispatchers) provide the first and most critical contact with residents when they face an emergency. They are a crucial connection with our Police and Fire Departments as they provide information to ensure our citizens’ safety.
Dedicating this week as National Public Safety Telecommunications week is yet another way to acknowledge them for their tireless efforts and the dedication they provide to the community and the City of San Luis.
