PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that that the City of San Luis, Arizona is considering possible establishing a permit fee for use of alcohol in public parks and other city facilities. The proposed fee would be in the amount of $15.00 to cover the cost of administering the program. At present time the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public parks or other city facilities is prohibited. This proposed fee is in line with similar fees charged by the Cities of Somerton and Yuma. It would be for the purpose of permits for the personal use of alcoholic beverages by individuals or small groups using certain city parks or facilities. The permits would be issued to one person for a single day and place, on such terms and conditions as may be established by the City Council of the City of San Luis and would not be transferable. It would not be either for the sale or large distribution of alcoholic beverages.
Originally, it was contemplated that City Council of the City of San Luis might consider and take action to adopt the proposed fee at its regular meeting on May 10, 2017 but the matter has been postponed. City Council may consider and take action to adopt the proposed fee at its regular meeting on August 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Council Chambers of the City of San Luis, 1090 E. Union Street, San Luis, Arizona, 85349. A copy of the ordinance of the City of Somerton from which the proposed fee is based is on file with the Clerk of the City of San Luis and may be obtained during normal business hours.
