San Luis, Arizona — On Saturday, October 21, 2017, the City of San Luis along with the City of Yuma, The City of Somerton, The City of San Luis Rio Colorado Sonora, the Cocopah Tribe, and the Yuma County will be hosting the Second Annual Binational Mayor’s Bike Ride.
The 2nd Annual Binational Mayor’s Bike Ride route has a total of 24 miles which will start at the Yuma Civic Center, located at 1440 W. Desert Hills Drive in Yuma, and will end at El Bosque, located at Avenida Nuevo Leon and Calle 7 in San Luis Rio Colorado. In between the start and finish, there will be break areas located in the City of Somerton, Gadsden and the City of San Luis these stations will have water for all participants.
This event is free of charge, and all participants are required to be registered before starting the race, registration can be completed from the comfort of your home at the “Second Annual Binational Mayor's Bike Event” website or can be completed the day of the event at the Civic Center starting at 7:00 a.m. In addition all participants are required to bring their own bicycle, helmet and passport if they plan to cross the border.
“I am excited about the Second Annual Binational Mayor’s and to see all the different communities coming together for a fun ride” stated Mayor Sanchez. He added that this event will be a great opportunity to showcase how the communities work together for a healthier lifestyle.
