San Luis, Arizona — On Friday, October 13, 2017, the City of San Luis joined forces with the South Yuma County Domestic Violence Coalition and walked a Mile Against Domestic Violence in commemoration of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
A total of 100 people participated in this year’s Walk Against Domestic Violence which included: Mayor Gerardo Sanchez, Vice Mayor Maria C. Ramos, State Representative Charlene Fernandez, Diane Umphress from Amberly’s Place, San Luis Police Department, Arizona Western College San Luis Learning Center, Campesinos Sin Fronteras, and PPEP YouthBuild.
“I am proud to see our community come together and join forces to raise awareness on Domestic Violence.” Stated Mayor Sanchez. He added that it is crucial for the members of the community to join forces and to be a voice for those who need help.
