San Luis, Arizona — The City of San Luis has illuminated City Hall pink to promote breast cancer awareness. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the City of San Luis is committed to raising awareness on the importance of early detection.

The City of San Luis and employees recognize the importance of National Breast Cancer Month, and the impact local health care organizations have on so many lives, as they promote early detection by increasing awareness through education, outreach, screening, treatment, and community awareness.

“We are proud to declare our commitment to fight breast cancer by partnering with local health organizations, as they will provide comfort and support to individuals and families that have been affected by breast cancer," said Mayor Gerardo Sanchez, he added that this partnership would allow the City to assist in the fight against breast cancer.

San Luis City Hall supports the National Breast Cancer Month by lighting up City Hall pink every night from October 15, 2017, until October 31, 2017.  City employees will also contribute to this recognition of breast cancer awareness month by wearing pink every Thursday for the remainder of the month.
