PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City of San Luis, Arizona is considering possibly establishing a permit fee for alcohol in public parks and other city facilities to help cover the cost of administering the program. At present, the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public parks or other city facilities is prohibited. This proposed fee is in line with similar fees charged by the Cities of Somerton and Yuma. It would be for permits for the personal use of alcoholic beverages by small groups for events at the ramadas in city parks or facilities on conditions as may be established by the City Council and would not be transferable. It would not be for the sale or large distribution of alcoholic beverages. A Special Alcohol Permit application process would apply for those requesting to bring a keg of Beer to their event. City Council may consider and may adopt the proposed fee at its regular meeting on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at the Council Chambers of the City of San Luis, 1090 E. Union Street, San Luis, Arizona, 85349. A copy of the proposed ordinance for Alcohol Permits and proposed resolution for the fee is on file with the Clerk of the City of San Luis and may be obtained during business hours.
