San Luis, Arizona — Comite de Bien Estar, Inc., NeighborWorks America and City of San Luis hosted a fire hydrant art contest for students in San Luis, Arizona. The purpose of the art competition is to recognize and encourage artistic talent among our youth.
Each student was presented with a certificate of participation for their phenomenal artistic contribution to the community. We would like to thank Kazandra Rodriguez, Alberto Plantillas, Natalia Corrales, Jocelyn Corrales-Gonzalez, Alisson Contreras, Zaira Lopez, Francisco Guerrero, Clarissa Chavez, and Aratssy Servin for their participation.
We are also pleased to announce that Kazandra Rodriguez was the first place winner. Ms. Rodriguez’s bright green and orange fire hydrant can be found at 9th Avenue and Urtuzuastegui Street. “It is of utmost importance that art programs like this exist and continue to exist for our youth, and that they are always recognized for their efforts”, Mayor Gerardo Sanchez expressed.
