San Luis, Arizona — Earlier this month Mr. Enrique Lopez was appointed as Assistant Fire chief of the San Luis Fire Department.
Assistant Fire Chief Lopez began his career with the San Luis Fire Department back in 2005 and rose through the department’s ranks. Mr. Lopez started as a Hazardous Material Technician, became a paramedic in 2009, and for the last 8 ½ years, Mr. Lopez has held the position of Fire Captain with the San Luis Fire Department.
Assistant Fire Chief Lopez brings to the position an Associate degree in Paramedicine and a Certified Public Manager certification from Arizona State University Bob Ramsey Executive Education program. He also completed the Arizona Fire Chief’s Association Regional Battalion Chief Academy in 2017.
“I am very excited for this new opportunity in serving our community,” stated Assistant Fire Chief Lopez. “I will do my best to be a good asset for the San Luis Fire Department and our community,” he added.
Fire Chief Ramirez added, “Assistant Fire Chief Lopez has been an excellent employee and brings a wealth of knowledge to the position.” “He is always looking out for the well-being of his staff and people in the community, he will do an excellent job as the new Assistant Fire Chief,” he concluded.
