San Luis, Arizona — The City of San Luis is proud to announce that the Planning and Zoning Department has been awarded the National League of Cities’ (NLC) Census Rapid Response Grant. The Census Rapid Response Grant allocates $15,000 for cities to utilize for direct support, engagement, and outreach activities in efforts to ensure an accurate census count.
Future outreach efforts include informational videos, virtual census meetings where residents can meet with staff and get their census questions answered, as well as advertisements on paper, television, and radio. Furthermore, the San Luis Planning and Zoning Department is working on updating the Census Action Plan, putting its residents’ health as a priority while ensuring everyone gets counted during this pandemic.
“Congratulations City of San Luis’ Planning and Zoning Department and the San Luis Complete Count Committee on receiving the grant!” stated Mayor Gerardo Sanchez. “This is going to help the City’s efforts in ensuring every San Luis resident is counted!” he concluded.
