San Luis, Arizona – The City of San Luis is proud to share that it has been recognized as the fourth safest city in Arizona for 2021 by SafeWise. The City of San Luis has earned this special recognition for the past three (3) years.
To rank number four (4) is a very important accomplishment for the community. It sends a reassuring message that there is a collaborate effort to keep the city safe.
According to SafeWise nearly 50% of Arizona residents are highly concerned about their safety on a daily basis, and 54% of residents think Arizona is a safe place to call home. This year there was a continued drop in crime rates, and personal experiences with crime remained stagnant, yet when compared with the rest of the country Arizona continues to report a higher incidence of crime.
Even though crime rates are trending down, Arizona’s level of daily concern about safety jumped nine (9) percentage points from 40% to 49%. The research showed that Arizonans level of concern increased in relation to violent crime, property crime, package theft, and gun violence.
SafeWise is an online resource that offers safety solutions, information, and recommendations for the community. Their experts have decades of experience as journalists, product testers, safety and compliance officers, homeowners, and community advocates.
“To be ranked the fourth safest city in our state of Arizona is a reflection of the caring and hard-working community that we are,” stated Mayor Gerardo Sanchez. “It is our goal to continue to do our best to ensure our residents are and feel safe,” he added.
