Drivers should allow extra travel time and use alternate routes if possible
The Arizona Department of Transportation is scheduled to pave several streets in San Luis beginning Tuesday, April 7.
Paving is scheduled to take place between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Streets scheduled for paving are as follows:
• Main Street
• C Street- (Between Main Street and First Avenue)
• New Roundabout at D Street
Drivers in the San Luis downtown area should prepare for one lane restrictions along these roads next week. Additional travel time through the area should be allowed as delays are likely.
Business access will be maintained, however, there will be temporary driveway disruptions as the paving equipment makes its way past businesses and as the fresh new asphalt cures. Roads and driveways will be reopened as soon as the asphalt has dried.
Also, crews will be adjusting their work schedule next week due to the holiday weekend, and work will take place Tuesday through Friday next week. Drivers on Main Street can expect to be shifted to the other side of the street as pipe work continues to make its way up north towards C Street. One southbound lane of travel will continue to be maintained on Main Street.
The work is part of the Arizona Department of Transportation’s US 95 San Luis street improvements that began in October.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
