Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebrates Completion of 4th Avenue Improvements

4th Avenue Improvements

San Luis, Arizona — This morning, the City of San Luis held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to commemorate the reopening and completion of the roadway improvements for 4th avenue (Union St. to County 22nd St).

The 4th Avenue roadway improvements consist of the relocation of 500 lineal feet of water line, the addition of sidewalks, bike lanes, center turn lanes, and roadway improvements to increase roadway users’ safety, such as leveling of the street.

The San Luis Public Works Department, alongside Comite de Bienestar, Evans Custom Concrete, and Desert Excavating Inc., began working on this project on March 15, 2022 and was finalized today, June 23, 2022. The total cost of this project was approximately $225,000.000.

“I am proud of the hard work and dedication the City of San Luis City Council and staff have put into the improvements of our community for our residents,” stated Mayor Gerardo Sanchez. “Supporting roadway improvement projects such as this one increases the quality of life for our residents and adds more value, especially on heavily trafficked areas such as 4th Avenue,” he concluded.
