The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
During the Regular Council Meeting, held April 22nd, 2015 the award of Financial Reporting Achievement was presented to the Finance Department as the responsible party for preparing the award-winning CAFR.
“First and foremost, we recognize the magnitude of this award as it represents the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by our Finance Department, as well as the City’s leadership and its management,” stated Mayor Gerardo Sanchez, adding “The City of San Luis is highly encouraged in these efforts to achieve and maintain an appropriate standard of excellence in financial reporting.”
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
