[ARCHIVED] San Luis Is Recognized As The Second Safest City In Arizona For 2022

Safest Cities in Arizona

San Luis, Arizona – The City of San Luis was recognized as the second safest city in Arizona for 2022 by SafeWise. The City of San Luis has earned a spot in this list since 2016.
To rank number two (2) is a very important accomplishment for the community. It sends a reassuring message that there is a collaborate effort to keep the city safe. Although crime rates continue to rise in the state and in the nation, the City of San Luis moved up two (2) spots on the list, becoming the second safest city in Arizona.

Although there was a 7% drop in the state’s per capita property crime rate, the state continues to see a higher average in property crime rate than the rest of the nation. With a 10% jump in the states violent crime rate, Arizona once again had higher rates above the US average violent crime rates. Research showed that Arizonans level of concern increased in relation to violent crime, property crime, package theft, and gun violence.

“To be ranked the 2nd safest city in our state of Arizona is a reflection of the hard-work we have accomplished and the values of community are greatly reflected,” stated Mayor Gerardo Sanchez. “It is our goal to continue to do our best to ensure our residents are and feel safe in their homes, parks, and everywhere they go in our city,” he concluded.
