San Luis, Arizona — The San Luis Parks and Recreation Department is thrilled to announce the expansion of their highly anticipated Summer Camp, where they will offer two different sessions with a wide range of engaging activities and educational opportunities to our youth.
Under the dedicated supervision of staff, the Parks and Recreation Summer Camp will provide children between the ages of 6 to 13 with a summer filled with fun, educational moments, and lifelong memories. The camp’s expansion to two sessions allows for increased participation. During these two sessions, participants can develop new skills, make lasting friendships, and ignite their creativity through various activities, from sports and arts and crafts to team-building exercises, workshops, and much more.
Session 1 kicks off on June 5th and will run through June 30th. Session 2 will commence on July 3rd and conclude on July 28th. The four-week sessions will run Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Registration for both sessions of the Summer Camp opens today, Monday, May 15th, 2023, and ends Friday, May 26th, 2023. There is a registration fee of $45.
Even with the expansion of our summer camp, it is with great sorrow we announce that the San Luis Municipal Pool will remain closed this summer for necessary repairs and maintenance. As it has never undergone renovations since its establishment, this temporary closure is essential to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our community members.
“While it saddens us to have our pool closed this summer, the work needs to be done,” stated Mayor Nieves Riedel. “Nonetheless, this year’s Summer Camp promises to bring a wide range of engaging activities and educational opportunities to our youth,” she concluded.
