City of San Luis Announces Temporary Closure of Senior Center for Renovation Project

San Luis, Arizona – The San Luis Senior Center will temporarily close its doors to allow for renovations and improvements to the facility.

The senior center will be temporarily closed from Monday, September 21, 2026, through December 2026 while construction work is completed. The closure is necessary to allow the contractor to perform work. Temporary relocation is planned to provide a safe environment for seniors, staff, and visitors during the renovation project.

While the Senior Center is temporarily closed, the City of San Luis will continue to provide WACOG approved congregate meals for Senior Center members at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center.

Member meals will resume at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center starting Monday, October 5, 2026. Hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Fridays. Members are encouraged to continue participating in the meal program during the temporary closure.

The city will provide additional information regarding any other temporary programs, activities, or services available to members during this temporary closure. The renovation project is intended to improve the facility and capacity, and to provide a more welcoming, functional, and comfortable space for seniors when the Senior Center reopens.
