San Luis Parks & Recreation Chosen for APS 140th Anniversary Beautification Project
May 14, 2026
San Luis, Arizona – The City of San Luis has been named a recipient of Arizona Public Service (APS) community beautification funding, awarded as part of APS’s 140th anniversary celebration.
Through this investment, the San Luis Parks and Recreation will be beautifying Joe Orduno Park, creating lasting improvements and benefits for the community, supporting the refurbishment of Joe Orduño Park, allowing the department to replace the existing metal shade structure behind home plate at the F1 Baseball Field, refurbish the concession stand building between F2 and F3 Softball fields, and restore the tennis courts.
“Joe Orduño Park is where our community comes together,” stated Angelica Roldan, Director of Parks and Recreation. “Thanks to this support from APS, we can improve these spaces and continue creating positive experiences for our residents,” she added.
The funding is part of APS’s commitment to support beautification projects across its service territory in 2026. The initiative honors APS’s 140-year history in Arizona and reflects the company’s ongoing focus on strengthening the communities it serves.
“It’s been amazing to watch Arizona become a thriving hub for opportunity, innovation, and community,” said Ted Geisler, APS president and CEO. “Our 140th anniversary will reflect who APS is at our core, people who care deeply about Arizona and believe that showing up, rolling up our sleeves, and serving side by side makes our communities stronger.”
Together, APS and the San Luis Parks and Recreation Department are demonstrating the power of collaboration to make a meaningful, local impact. All while honoring Arizona’s past while building stronger communities for generations to come.
