Building Permit Technician Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Building Permit Coordinator include:

  • Building permit applications
  • Calculation of fees
  • Issuance of permits
  • Basic review of plans for building

The coordinator also receives, logs, routes, and tracks various permit applications. The coordinator also reviews permit applications, plans, and specifications to ensure all documents comply with applicable codes, ordinances, and standards.

Also, the coordinator provides information and assistance to developers, contractors, homeowners, members of the public, and other public agencies at the Building Safety office, by telephone, and by email.

Please download and fill out a Building Permit Application and provide the following additional information:

  • Complete set of plans and/or drawings with the scope of work to be done
    • Electronic pdf files preferred
    • If hard copies are submitted:
      • 2 sets for residential properties
      • 3 sets for commercial properties
  • Site Plan

City Department Approvals

The Building Safety Division receives all building permit applications for the City of San Luis and distributes to appropriate departments for approval as needed including:
